June 6th

The stairwell lead into a building that was broken into shambles. Crumbles  of the ceiling and beds were spread out along the walls. It didn’t take long for the party to notice large centipede like beings that were crawling along the floor. Orin and Garo ran to intercept the bulk of the enemies while Kriv stayed in the back to take on the one that was close. Berrian let lose a chain of lighting that torched three of the beasts.  Only a few seconds into the battle, it seemed like it was already won but then the ground began to quake. 2 large beings erupted from the ground, attacking the party. They continuously burrowed, erupted, and bit party members. The party grouped together, waiting for each one to erupt. Orin was at one point knocked down and as both of the beasts shot out of the ground and bit him very hard. Orin held strong and was able to stand again but was hurt badly. Berrian shot another devastating blow to one of the beasts while Kriv decapitated the other. The party had survived another day.

Once the party left the building, they realized that they were in the barracks that they had passed before entering the hall of glory. After some discussion, they decided to empty the guard house that was near the entrance as to not be surprised from behind when they finally would liberate the abbey.

May 23rd/30th

The party returned to the minotaurs to discuss that they had not only taken out the demon that was controlling the gnolls but also the dragon in the room next to it. The minotaurs were very impressed but then decided they wanted to party to clear out the rest of the gnolls. Everyone was put off by this request as the minotaurs had given nothing for taking out the threat of the dragon and the demon. The party grouped together and quietly discussed what they should do. Sir Oakley declared that the minotaurs were still radiating evil and would need to be removed from the temple before it could be clensed. Orin told the minotaurs that the temple needs to be cleansed and therefore the minotaurs needed to leave the temple and the party is giving them the choice to do it without bloodshed. The minotaurs tried to intimidate their way out of the agreement but not only did Orin and Kriv intimidate right back, even Berrian got in the face of the lead mintoaur. This did not work out well for Berrian since he was right in the face of the minotaurs as they decided that they’d rather die than leave.

The large minotaurs that fled the previous battle along with 2 large demons joined the room to aid the main minotaurs. Two minotaurs came from the entrance to block the escape. It was only seconds after the first swing that Berrian was surrounded. Orin tried his best to help Berrian but was hypnotized by the leader into charging Berrian. Garo took the enemies in the back of the room while Kriv and Kaida tried to block anymore from coming in after Berrian. Eventually, one of the mintaurs pushed Berrian up against a wall. He did not know that this would actually help him as it let him escape being surrounded from both sides. Orin took to fighting the oversized minotaurs and the demons. Sir Oakley joined the frey to help Garo take out the enemies around him. Eventually, Kriv was knocked out. Fortunately, Kerigor arrived to bring him back. After much effort, the minotaurs were defeated. They found a ceremonial dagger that was engrained with evil after the battle.

The party then discussed what to do next. They knew that the gnolls were still around and would need to be eradicated before they left and Berrian also felt a strong, arcanic and demonic energy pulsating from somewhere in the area. Berrian found a secret door and could feel the unease from behind the door. Kriv and Kerigor said they should rest for the night before the door was opened but Orin wasn’t tired and wanted to push on. After much debate, the party rested while Orin paced the halls impatiently.

In the morning, Orin woke up everyone and had Berrian show him how the door was opened. Behind the door was a room full of demonic depictions on the walls and a large statue of Bephomet in the room. Kerigor insisted that the party pay it respect. Timmels tried to pry the eyes out of the statue and it blasted him backwards. The party decided that those from the temple of Bahamut would need to remove this and they proceeded through another secret door.

Behind the door was a large pool of water that seemed acidic and across the pool were gnolls that were posed to attack. Orin declared that there was no need to fight and that the party only wanted to discuss with the gnolls. Orin told the gnolls that they needed to leave and the party would give them the option of dying or leaving. Kerigor was not happy by this at all and said that they must be killed. Orin told him that if we were to give the minotaurs the option to leave, the gnolls deserve the same option. After some discussion between the party and the gnolls, an arrangement came about where Kriv would stand by the gnolls as hostage while the gnolls sent over one man to let the party go through their things to make sure they had no relics that Sir Oakley would need to restore the temple. Kerigor started edging around the corner of the pool and gnolls started freaking out so Orin jumped on him and grabbed him. Sir Oakley and Berrian went through the items and took out a cloak and a rod engraved with the holy symbol of Asmodeus.

The gnoll returned to the rest of his party and they said they were leaving. They attempted to leave through the stairs in the back and Orin yelled no. He told them they must leave through a way that the party knew they were leaving. The gnolls turned unhappily to another door and Orin again declared no. The gnolls were confused. Orin said that the party didn’t know where the door they were going would lead and said that Kriv needed to stay with them until he knew they were leaving the correct way out. Kriv moved through the next few rooms and realized where he was. He sent the gnolls on their way and returned to the party. The party searched the rest of the rooms and then proceeded up the staircase that the gnolls had first attempted to flee.

May 16th

As Kriv took out the minotaur/gnoll, the other enemies grew fearful. A few more hits on them from around the party and they all fled in terror. The party searched the room to see if there was anything of value and found a few dishes, a gem, and some stemware. The party discussed about what they should do next and chose to go back to the minotaurs and tell them what had happened. Before the party could start making their way back, Kriv decided he wanted to check out what was behind one of the doors. As a spear flew over his head, it didn’t take long to realize he may have made a mistake.

A large group of Kobolds were assembled in a large room complete with many tall pillars. Orin rushed in, cleaving 3 enemies in one blow but was then able to see the rest of the room. There was another set of Kobolds, a few large dragonkin soldiers, a fancy adept, and a large red dragon. Luckily, the dragon was still asleep. The other party worked their way through the enemies to see the spectacle of the red dragon as well. Garo decided to summon his flames card to blast a large group of enemies.  He also summoned a demon that helped Kerigor, Kriv, and Timmels dispatch of the lower Kobolds. Berrian blasted a few Kobalds with lightning to clear the path for everyone to advance.

It wasn’t long before one of the dragonkin decided to wake up the sleeping dragon. The dragon tail slapped the dragonkin for waking him but turned towards the party quickly after. The adept healed the dragonkin and a few kobolds while still burning the rest of the party.  Kaida morphed into her abomination form and blasted multiple dragonkin and kobolds to their death. Berrian quickly dispatched the adept with a lightning bolt that ricocheted throughout 2 of the dragonkin. The dragon then began to breathe fire over and over onto the party. Kerigor blasted a wave of strength through most of the party to help them resist the beast. The dragon focused all of his breaths toward Orin, trying to dispatch of him. Orin pushed through and continued to swing at the dragon. Kriv drew from the power of his god to deliver a devastating blow to the dragon. Everyone focuses their strongest efforts on the dragon and in the end the dragon collapsed to the floor while everyone else was still standing strong.

Garo is now 8th level!

May 2nd

As the adventures were heading downstairs, the party of Kerigor, Timmels, Reef, Kaida, and Kabuteri showed up. They explained that they had been stuck in the cosmos from the tower when it collapsed and when they returned, we were already gone. Berrian Elder informed them of where the rest of the party was so they rushed to catch up.

The bottom of the stairs revealed a dark crypt with 2 doors, one small door and one large brass door. While everyone was examining the area, Orin asked Reef which door he thought looked best. Reef said the small one and Orin, being impatient, just waltzed through the door. On the other side were 2 large minotaurs. They said that they wanted the party to leave but with further discussion, the minotaurs escorted the party to the leader. The leader said that they lived here but had been having a feud with the gnolls that also lived down in the crypt. The minotaurs seemed nice enough so the party decided to help. Some of the party seemed a bit wary as the minotaurs were also accompanied by 2 large demons. The leader explained that the leader of the gnolls was an odd demonic being that seemed to be both minotaur and gnoll. The leader also explained that there were 2 minotaurs with the gnolls and asked for the party to rephrain from hurting them. The party reluctantly agreed and started to head towards the leader of the gnolls.

Before the party entered, Kerigor asked if he could go in first to try and help get the minotaurs out. Timmels decided he would hide on Kerigor when he entered. As Kerigor entered, the odd minotaur/gnoll exclaimed that he wanted everyone to join him at a feast on his table. The party was surprised that he knew they were all there and decided not to partake in the food. It didn’t take much discussion before the minotaur/gnoll decided to attack. He blasted a wave over the closest too him, trying to daze them. He caught Melgar but everyone else avoided his blast. Garo summoned the card of flame and blasted the minotaurs and the gnolls. Kriv struck a mighty blow against the minotaur/gnoll. Melgar sent a devastating multi-attack into one of the gnolls. Berrian summoned a huge fireball, engulfing nearly all the enemies. The battle continues to ensue…

April 25th

Before the chaos left, there seemed to be one thing left that only one could see. Garo gazed into the eyes of a small demon that was laughing at him. As the chaos disappeared, the demon jumped directly at Garo and then he was gone.

The party took the time to analyze their new surroundings once the beholder was slain. The tower turned into a normal tower again, with 3 dead bodies on the floor. The bodies seemed to be hundreds of years old and Berrian was able to tell that one of them was an eladrin. Orin took out his sounding stone and told Berrian Eldar to come to the tower as we may have found his father. Berrian Eldar wept on his knees as he knew it was his father. He told the party that his tears were not all sad tears since he was also happy to finally know the fate of his father. The party left the tower to return with him to the eladrin encampment.

Analastra cried into her brothers arms upon hearing the news. The entire encampment was grim but there was a sign of relief in their eyes. Berrian Eldar told the party the he agreed to help Lord Padraig and the party in any way needed. Orin let him know that something had happened to him while in the tower. The eladrin elders examined him and found out that he was indeed tainted by some sort of vile magic. They told Orin that it would take an entire day of rituals to cleanse him. Berrian took notice that these elders knew rituals and asked if they could lend him any rituals that he could learn himself. They let him borrow 3 scrolls, the ritual of knock, the ritual of Secret Doors, and the ritual of Wizards Escape. He was very excited and began to study them immediately. Orin told the rest of the party that he would stay at the camp while everyone else headed back to inform Lord Padraig that the tower was clear. He gave the party a sounding stone and told them to contact him once they encountered Lord Padraig. After arranging how things would be set for the next day, the party rested until the next morning.

The party left the next day to meet with the Lord Padraig. Upon arrival to the town, Berrian sent a runner to the castle to tell Lord Padraig that the party needed to meet with him. As they waited in the bar for the runner, Berrian drank wine and cheese while studying the scrolls he had received while Garo and Kriv drank at the bar. In the afternoon, the runner returned and said that Lord Padraig would meet with them tonight. They arrived to what seemed to be a small dinner party and informed Lord Padraig of all that had occurred. He gave the payment for the job to Kriv and asked if the party would escort a group of his soldiers to the tower. The party agreed and enjoyed the rest of the party until they returned to the bar and rested for the night.

At the encampment with Orin, it was a completely different day. He had to strip naked and be covered in different markings while the eladrin chanted around him all day. He was very antsy and did not want to stay still but the eladrin insisted that he not move or they would have to start over. They had him bathe in the fountain, cover himself in leaves, and lay still all the while. Eventually he drifted into a deep sleep that lasted the rest until the morning of the next day.

When Orin awoke, he felt better than he had in years. He was still naked but Orin had never been one to be shy. He gained assurance from the elders that the ritual was now complete and the disease had been removed. The rest of the party, followed by the soldiers of Lord Padraig, arrived in the afternoon. Orin explained what had happened with him and the rest of the party told him what had happened with Lord Padraig. Berrian returned the scrolls to the elders and thanked them for allowing him to scribe them in his own book. Everyone gathered together and decided it was finally time to make their way to the monastery.

When they arrived at the grounds, Sir Oakley told them about the place. The monastery was in the center, there were barracks to the left, a gatehouse to the right, and in the back was the hall of glory. Kriv and Orin seemed very excited about the hall of glory so the party made their way back to it. On the way, they felt like they were being watched from the gatehouse but ignored it and pushed on.

The hall of glory was covered in spider webs as the party entered. Kriv peed himself a little when he realized that there was spiders all in the webs. A swarm of spiders jumped on him while two large spiders jumped around the party. Orin and Garo went for the large spiders while Berrian blasted them from the entrance. Berrian eventually sent out a fountain of fire to burn some of the critters away. Kriv tried to jump into the fountain in the center of the room to get the spiders off of him with no avail. After a few more swings of swords and axes, the spiders were all dead. Kriv made his way out of the discusting fountain and stepped on a pair of dice. They seemed magical so he held on to them after talking to the party about them

Sir Oakley exclaimed that the party was wasting time here in the hall of glory and that we should head to the monastery instead of searching the crypts below. The party discussed their options for a while but eventually decided against Oakley and made their way to the entrance of the crypts.

April 18th

As the battle raged on, the others were still stuck in the cosmic void. Kriv, Reef, Garo, Timmels, and Kerigor were struggling while independently lost. Reef took some time and surveyed the area to find his way to the staircase and moved stealthily past the tentacles. Kriv was also able to locate the staircase but he pushed and broke through the tentacles. Timmels and Kerigor were not so lucky. Timmels searched and searched and while able to get closer to the stairs, he was not able to get there in time. He transformed from a tiny pixie into a fat human with ugly bug wings. Kerigor tried and tried to pray to his god to escape the void. Unfortunately, the gods are unable to hear anything from the chaos realm so he alsobecame corrupted with his horns turning into bunny ears and his arms and legs looking like they had been squashed. Garo found his way back to the door to join Kriv and Reef. Kriv, Garo, and Reef were lucky enough to return to the battle in a timely manner.

As they returned, 3 of the destroyed wretches were replaced by new ones out of the cosmic disturbance of the new people reaching the room which also sucked out Kabuteri and Kaida. The magic voids shifted into many new forms such as alien brain matter that lashed out at anyone near and diminsonal holes that would drop people from the ceiling along with long reaching portals that allowed others to touch anyone in the room. The beholder shot lasers from its eyes causing all kinds of detrimental effects and massive damage to whoever it targeted. Berrian shot fire from the sky, Orin, Kriv and Garo pounded the eye with their weapons, and Reef shot the eye with arrows but the beholder seemed like it would live forever. Berrian at one point was knocked out completely from one of the beams. Orin and Kriv both tried to help him, only for another laser to take him down. The wretches began teleport when it would seem they would be hit, making it extremely hard to kill them. Orin at one point was struck blind, deaf, and immobilized all at once.  Reef became dominated by the beholder and shot Orin and Kriv in the back. Eventually, Timmels found his way into the room got to slam and bite the beholder. Garo was shot into petrifaction of stone and became frozen as he tried to swing. Orin was growing weak and as the beholder began to shoot another blast into him, Kriv jumped in to take the damage and swung with all his might. On the swing, the beholders eye shut and the wretches disappeared. Barely able to move, the party let out a sigh of relief.

In the place of one of the magical voids appeared a bag, Inside, there were two pairs of gloves and 3 cards. Upon further inspection, the cards said Fate, Fool, and Vizier, one of the gloves seemed to empower healing, and the other the art of stealth.

Loot:

April 11th

The party thought they were safe but they were quite wrong. After the last slime was destroyed, the pit disappeared and the entire floor turned into the bubbling floor that had been in the pit. Everything seemed to be drawn toward the ceiling as the walls were flowing upward but every once and a while would be broken by an on looking eye. The globs were still flying towards the ceiling. The screaming that had been haunting the party’s ears since they entered the building grew louder. The party decided to all jump on to a globule and fly upwards. From here, things only became more distorted….

The tower melted away and turned into an ocean of amoeboid shapes where it could not be discerned whether it were a million beings or one. The black globules started to merge with the sky. The sky turned into a billion distant stars. The screaming turned into babble. At this point, everyone seemed completely lost.  Garo and Berrian were able to figure out a path to a staircase were they waited for others to arrive. Orin pushed with all his might to force the dizziness out of his head so he could push himself through the void. Kabuteri bounced around until he could finally find his way to the staircase.  Garo was able to see Kaida as she drifted by. He made his way out to her and pulled her onto the staircase but then became stuck in the void again himself. Everyone else became lost in the void.

As Kaida arrived, it was obvious something was wrong. Her body began to change. Her skin turned purple, her eyes shifted, a tail grew from her backside, her face became disfigured. Berrian figured out that she had somehow been magically tainted but knew of no way to fix her. She still remained herself inside but her outer figure had been greatly disfigured. The party knew of nothing more than to push on through this crazy world to try and find a way to cure her.

Those who had made their way to the ledge were greeted again with utter chaos. The stars grew larger and turned into millions of cards.  Three large cards were clustered at the center of the vast void. All the other cards simultaneously blew away into the void. The paths to the cards left were covered in horrific tentacles. An otherworldly wind blew strongly at everyone but nobody seemed to lose their ground. Berrian figured out that it was magical and could see the holes in the path. Kabuteri dipped and dodged his way through the tentacles. Kaida forced the images out of her head and made it to the other side. Orin tried to push past them all but was grabbed. He was able to slip out and eventually make it to the other side.

Before the doors opened, Orin began to change. His fingers became one, his legs shifted backwards, he feet turned into hooves, and his eyes became part of his forehead. The party pushed as hard as possible and fell through to what seemed to be an armory. Kaida and Orin looked normal again. When the party stood up, they saw 4 suits of armor decked in tabards. Suddenly the armor exploded to show twisted humanoid creatures and the room began to shift and morph. Then out of the wall a large, floating eye erupted and looked upon the party. Things did not look in favor of the group.

Suddenly, the floor beneath Kabuteri and Orin shot 20 feet up in the air. Orin tried to fight the warped manifestation, only to pass right through it. Kabuteri realized it was a magical energy and jumped down from the area to attack one of the wretches. He was able to slice it straight in half. Berrian shot at 2 others with lightning making them both dust. Kaida tried to destroy the remaining one and missed.

At this point, the beholder became violent. It shot a ray at everyone in the room. Orin was knocked from the pillar to the ground and others were damaged greatly. The pillar disappeared and turned into slime. Orin pushed his way through the slime and pulled out the card he had taken from Reef and used it, feeling quite proud that he had successfully fulfilled slight of hand against an expert. Orin jumped on the zone and shot a ray at the beholder. He suddenly felt as if he could control it. He moved it away and it shot a beam from the beholder at the wretch but slightly missed. Kaida then tried to destroy the wretch herself and again whiffed. Berrian shot a lighting bolt that the wretch danced under but the arc shot at the eye hit dead on. Kabuteri was able to maneuver around the beholder but only to miss with a strike.

The fight was just beginning…..

The new adventure

This is the continuation from the adventure posted at http://hobbytowndnd.wordpress.com/. The new story has begun.

After the grueling battle with many Orcs, the party captured one orc and spoke with him to try and determine what all they knew. Unfortunately the orc was pretty dumb but it did allow them to find out that it seems everyone knows about the Slayers of Shadowmire and the gold that came along with it. This was quite disturbing to the party to know that everyone may be after them. They knew they needed to get to Falcrest and fast.

Before they left, a young pixie vampire named Timmels joined the group due to his help in the battle against the orcs. The party was skeptical due to their previous encounters with Alphazar but decided to give the pixie a chance. Besides, who knows what else would stand in their way to get this money changed into bigger denominations…

Along the journey to Falcrest the party came across an inn. Since they hadn’t had a warm meal in days they decided to drop in for a bite. Kriv, Xaelin, and Reef entered the tavern while Phalanx and Orin stayed outside with the gold. Phalanx decided to give a long, drawn out speech about history to the farm boy outside while Orin laughed at how obvious it was that the boy was lost.

Meanwhile, inside the tavern Reef, Xaelin, and Kriv realized that everyone seemed to know who they were and were actually approached by a party of 3 paladins. The leader of the group, Sir Oakley, told them that they were in grave danger on their trip due to the dark elves in the woods. He also said that he and his worshipers of Behomet would be able to help us with the transfer of all this money into larger denominations. The three of them felt it was best to bring the paladins outside and discuss the idea with the party.

Upon more explanation, Sir Oakley explained that his alliance would help the party under two circumstances. Firstly, they would take a tithe of 10% to the church. Also, there was a temple that was overrun by orcs over 100 years ago that has precious artifacts from the previous worshippers of Behomet and that they would need the parties assistance in liberating the temple. After some bartering by Orin, the party agreed to the terms of a 5% tithe and would help freeing the temple. They shook hands on the agreement and Sir Oakley sent out some scouts to clear the way to Falcrest.

The party arrived in Falcrest with no more issues (except for an issue with Kriv trying to impress the female paladin only to fall on his face due to his shoes being tied together from Timmels) but they did experience some issues once they entered the town. Everyone recognized them and giving them strange looks. Eventually a beggar approached the carriage and asked for any spare money. Kriv decided to throw her 1 gold. This prompted tons and tons of beggars to chase after the carriage looking for a handout. Eventually, out of annoyance, Kriv threw five gold pieces as far as he could and the beggars chased after it while the party continued to the temple.

Finally the party reached the temple. The headmaster opened the doors and greeted Sir Oakley with honors. Sir Oakley explained the situation and the headmaster sent multiple carriers to start loading the gold into boxes. He explained that it would be a few weeks before they would be able to get the high denomination astral diamonds and platinum. He also did not seem very confident that the party could clear the temple. Orin expressed his discontent of the high priest for not expecting the best of the best from the party. Sir Oakley said that he would be accompanying the party and the high priest suggested that we bring along a cleric from their order of Behomet named Kerigor. The party accepted the help and explored the town for a day before heading to the town ofWinterhaventhat was located nearest to the temple.

As the party arrived at Winterhaven, Sir Oakley announced that he was good friends with the baron named Lord Padraig and that the party should meet with him. Lord Padraig allowed them entrance and they discussed the area around the abbey. Apparently, there was a band of orcs that had been terrorizing trade roots and merchants in the town that was stationed in the abbey’s grounds. The baron offered the party a reward for getting information on how many orcs there were, why they were there and how they can be stopped. The party agreed and began to make way to the abbey.

On the way to the abbey, there were a couple of orcs that were spotted by the party. Timmels immediately began to chase after them but they got away before he could get to them. Reef noticed a shield laying on the ground in the woods while scouting around the area that the orcs had fled. With Timmel’s assistance, the party was sure that these orcs are from the same clan that attacked them on the way to Falcrest. With the new information, everyone was ready to get to the abbey in a hurry.

The gate to the abbey was in no way barren. 2 large ogres and multiple orcs were ready for the party when they arrived. The bow orcs shot multiple volleys of arrows to rain down on the party before they could close the gap. Reef and Berrian took to shooting back at them while Orin charged in like a mad man with the rest of the party following in suit. One orc decided to slam the gate down, trapping Orin and Timmels inside while the rest of the party bashed away at the gate to break it down. After much hacking at the gate, shooting, hammering, slamming, and cleaving, all of the enemies were down.

The party took themselves to the top of the gate tower to survey the area. From where they were, they could see out to their right that there was a camp of nearly 100 orcs. Also in the garden area right in front of them there was a 2 headed dead ogresk thing along with a scattering of multiple orcs in front of a 2 story building. After much talk with the one orc the party left alive, Reef snuck out disguised as an orc to check and see if the 2 headed monster was dead. He in fact was dead and the orcs looked like they had been taken out by numerous means, alluding to the fact that another party like themselves might have done it. Orin demanded that to the orc left alive by the party to take them to the leader of the orcs and off the party went into the 2 story building.

As the doors swung open, the little orc that was being held hostage basically peed himself. He requested to see the Bakrosh and after multiple back and forth’s between the party and one of the orcs inside, the orcs took the initiative to attack. 3 orcs flipped the big 30 x 10 table to cut off their flank. Unfortunately for them it only had Kriv stuck for a few moments. After much slaughter, the last mage alive in the back of the room fled upstairs.

The party rested for a moment before heading up the stairs to greet Bakrosh. He was a large orc wearing a displacer beast’s hide as a cloak and had a snappy woman in his entourage. He offered the party a truce and he would reward them with 2 cards much like the one Berrian had been given long ago if the party would run an errand of taking out whatever in the woods was killing his men and another unknown errand. The party discussed the option and in the end chose to not partake so Orin turned to swing on the lord. Suddenly a bright light erupted and shot Orin backwards away from the lord and creating an odd fire symbol on the ground. Bakrosh jumped on top of it and shot out tons of fire in the direction of the party followed by himself being thrown backwards. The battle then presumed to ensue as usual.

At one point, Garo was about to be struck dead but Kriv jumped in front of the blow to make the big ogre miss. This was promptly followed by Garo teleporting the ogre down a hole in a 30 feet drop that almost killed him. Another ogre saw this and promptly pushed Timmels down the hole, almost killing him as well. Timmels lifted himself slowly but followed it with a massive smash to the other ogre down on the first floor with him. He flew back up to the 2nd floor and proceeded to battle as usual. Many enemies were burned by the massive fire attack created by the symbol that was on the ground. In the end though, the Slayers of Shadowmire showed that they had earned the name. They were able to find some strong items along with a pair of sounding stones that allowed for someone to speak with someone else from a far distance.

Travelling through the rest of the afternoon, they arrived at Lord Padraig’s manor in the evening. They informed him of taking out the Bakrosh leader along with how many other orcs their were there but he still seemed unimpressed.  Lord Padraig told the party that he knew of the group that was in the woods near the 2 story building. He explained that it was a group of eladrin that had assembled there for unknown reasons. He knew that the eladrin lady in town named Delphina Moongem had been in contact with them. Lord Padraig stated that he would pay the party to go and try to convince the eladrin to be allies. Orin demanded payment for the previous mission before any other would be mission would be discussed. The baron haphazardly threw the money on the table, obviously unhappy with Orin’s behavior. Orin began to get upset with the Lord Padraig’s attitude after the he explained that he could find someone else to do the job. Orin exclaimed that we are no ordinary adventurers and a party like us doesn’t come around too often. Lord Padraig then explained about how he had heard of a party that was in town who had recently taken out a 2 headed monster and many orcs as well. The party demanded to speak to the informant who had given the Lord Padraig his information. The informant explained they are staying at the inn and there is a half orc and a dark elf with them. After absorbing all the new information, the party accepted Lord Padraig’s request and left to find this new party along with the Delphina in town who had all the information on the other eladrin.

Everyone returned to the inn except for Reef who went to talk to an informant about what had gone on in the town while the party was away. Eventually Reef returned and as they were all in the bar discussing the new adventuring party with the barkeep, a beautiful eladrin lady came in and smacked Reef. Delphina said that she had been told that he was talking bad about her. Kriv, as usual, tried to hit on her and was promptly slapped as well. She left the bar and was followed by Garo. After many insults on how he smelled, Orin headed to take a bath while Kriv drank at the bar and Reef disappeared out the door.

Garo reached Delphina and discussed with her what she knew about the other eladrin in the woods. She said that she knew they were a good group that was there looking for someone in the area. Garo appreciated her knowledge and bought a flower to show his appreciation. At this point, Reef had seen the other party. They were causing a scene due to the half orc trying to steal something. Reef changed his form and headed over to them to watch them. Garo also noticed this scene and went to talk to them. He discussed a few things with the adventures after a few little bumps of argument. They all headed toward the bar with Reef following in the distance.

When the new party arrived at the bar, Kriv and Orin had already had a few drinks. Orin immediately recognized the new adventurers and demanded to speak with them. Through their discussion, it was obvious Orin was very concerned with the livelihood of his adventures with these new adventures showing up. The female human named Tam seemed to be the leader of the group kept trying to run off while talking to Orin. Eventually she fully turned her back to head to her room when Orin exclaimed “If you get in our way, I will kill you.” She slowly turned around while her big half orc friend named Grosh tried to get in Orin’s face. Garo tried to calm the new adventures down with a drink while Kriv stood up behind Orin and the innkeeper exclaimed “I don’t want any fights in here. Take it outside.” Orin explained that he in no way was trying to provoke a fight but was just explaining to them that this is our turf. The half orc wasn’t about to back down but Orin was obviously not intimidated. Tam called off Grosh and headed to her room.

Sir Oakley let the party know that Lord Padraig wanted to see them in the morning along with he was expecting some new recruits. Most of the party went to bed but Kriv stayed drinking till he passed out while Orin stayed downstairs awake the entire night. When the other adventures came downstairs to leave in the morning, Orin exclaimed again “If you get in our way, I will kill you.” They ignored them and carried on their way.

After a bribe of pancakes, Kriv slowly rose out of bed and joined the party to meet with Lord Padraig. He explained that he had yet another job for the party: there was a tower within the grounds of the abbey that he wanted to station his men upon. The party agreed that if the money was their, they would do it. After filling up on pancakes, the party returned to the inn to see that Sir Oakley had brought in the new recruits. One was their friend Melgar who had helped them slay the orcs that ambushed them; another was an odd looking bug type humanoid that wielded a spiked chain named Kabuteri. The last was a human female barbarian who wielded a massive hammer named Kaida. The party accepted their help and left towards the abbey yet again.

When the party arrived at the abbey, they decided not to head through the front gate but instead move around to where there was a large hole in the barrier surrounding the fortress. From here the party was able to see the tower that Lord Padraig had wanted them to secure. To everyone, it looked as if had some sort of odd, magical movement on the outside walls. Berrian and Garo looked a little closer to see that it looked like it was bleeding. The party proceeded to move forward through to the woods when they were startled by an eladrin male. He asked why the party was here and as they explained, they suddenly realized they were surrounded by eladrin. The lead eladrin male then told them that he is Berrian Velfarren Eldar and that he and his friends were here in order to locate information on his farther, Zandrian, that disappeared here a few hundred years ago. The party was very willing to help in any way they could so he told them that there was a building with a cellar that had lots of information on the area but it was filled with owlbears. He requested the party get those items but try to do it in a way that would not hurt the owlbears. He also explained that his sister, Analastra, had gone missing near a bell tower and would like the party to examine that as well. The party agreed and moved through the forest towards the bell tower.

As they approached the bell tower, they heard a scream from a girl. The party rushed to the scene to see 3 large displacer beasts and multiple bats near the unconscious girl. Many rushed to fight the displacer beasts as Orin ran to the girl’s aid. He was able to strike all the bats and anger them enough to leave the girl alone and not kill her. The displacer beasts were becoming quite an issue for many others as well. Multiple people had strikes or shots that seemed to be dead on but instead just went right through an image. Eventually one of them was hit and became clearly visible. It was clear to the party that there was a secret to hitting them that they needed to find out.

After a few attacks from Reef and Kerigor, the party started to get some solid damage into the displacer beasts. They realized that as long as one person hit them, it was very far easier to hit them for a few moments. It seemed the trick was land a blow “evenly” displaced across the beast. Timmel’s flew over to assist Orin with the bats. He turned into a bundle of bats himself and tore through the others. Orin and Timmels battled them hard until they were all gone.

At this point, Timmel’s decided to fly up into the bell tower and see if there were any more bats to kill. What he didn’t expect was for there to be 5 of them and for them all to latch on to him. Unfortunately, Orin had already ran over to help with the displacer beasts so he was too far away to make it there quick enough. Kriv and Kabuteri tried to get up the stairs to reach the top of the bell tower but they crumbled under their feet. Orin was able to get to the top with some assistance but was a moment too late. Timmels was dead on the floor. Orin dropped his magic card on the floor and worked on the bats with Kriv and Kabuterihelping once they finally reached the top. In the end, Orin carried Timmels dead body out of the tower.

Kerigor and Berrian were tending to the eladrin girl who once woken up confirmed that she was Analastra. Sir Oakley and Reef cut up some of the displacer beasts to make cloaks and also took their bladder as well. It was known that the owlbears fear displacer beasts so Reef thought that this would help in scaring them away in order for the party to retrieve the documents hidden in the building. Kaida

The party approached the building full of displacer beasts very silently. Reef along with Kabuteri went off into the woods to assist in scarring the owlbears away from the building while the party waited in the distance with one of the sounding stones found from Bakrosh waiting for Reef to say that everything was clear. After a few minutes, Reef and Kabuteri were successful and the party gathered everything they could before their return to the other eladrins.

Upon their return, Berrian Eldar was very happy to see his sister back in one piece. The party then showed him their loss of Timmels. Berrian Eldar instructed one of the eladrins to take Timmels to the healer. Since he had not been gone for too long, the healer was able to revive him so he could return to his trickery. Berrian Eldar also relieved to hear that the group was able to not harm the owlbeast in procurement of the documents. The rest of the night was spent by most researching the documents. Kriv spent his time endlessly failing to impress Analastra. Garo was able to find out that Zandrian faught endlessly against hordes of enemies hundreds of years ago in this abbey and had disappeared at some point but not much more.

Berrian Eldar pulled Reef to the side and told him a few secrets and also gave him a card like that of the other cards the party had found. Reef hid this and told nobody about the secret nor the card he had attained. In the morning, Kriv came downstairs early and spotted Analastra. He followed her out into the woods and then suddenly she was gone. Kriv had a moment of panic until he returned to see that she had already returned back to the town and it was obvious she was playing with him. After his return the party gave one of the sound stones to the Berrian Eldar and headed out towards the odd watch tower.

Once the party reached the tower, everyone understood that the power was not of this world. Everyone seemed to approach the tower differently. Kerigor prayed to his gods for assistance. Orin smacked the door with his gouge and the door began to bleed. Kaida laid a hand on the wall and felt the dark energy. Reef searched around the grounds the area for clues. Thankfully, he found footprints the lead into the back wall of the tower but not leaving it. He called everyone over for closer examination. Kriv decided it would be a great idea to charge head first into the wall. It didn’t work out well as he crashed backwards and everyone laughed at him. Everyone tried to examine the wall with no luck until Reef brought his right hand to the wall. The water card he had stowed into is sleeve was shinning with great light. Since he had told nobody of the card, many were surprised and a few were angry that he had not discussed this with the party. When Reef pushed harder, he could move more into the wall. The group lined up, hand in hand, and pushed their way through with Reef leading the way.

The insides of the tower were nothing anyone had seen before. The floors and walls were pink and looked like muscle tissue and moved slightly. There were black bubbles floating up in the middle of a gap that only had one bridge. On the other side of the gap was Tam, smiling at the party. “I told you if you get in our way, your dead!” screamed Orin as he tried to make his way over to her. She grabbed onto one of the floating bubbles and started flying high into the air. Timmels tried to catch up to her but she grabbed his head and threw him to the ground. As he approached the ground things got a lot worse. The bridge had disappeared and turned into mimics while the floor shifted knocked Kriv and Reef down to the bottom of the pit. There were oozes ready to attack them both at the bottom. More oozes showed up out of the bubbles to attack the party as well.

Timmels flew down to help Kriv and Reef and smacked one of the oozes hard. Reef followed up with a slash from his sword only to realize that the part he cut off had become another ooze. The battle insued uptop with Garo and Orin on one side while Berrian, Kerigor, and Kaida tried to fight off the other enemies. The oozes down below engulfed Kriv and Timmels and they had to fight their way out from the inside. Berrian summoned a fountain of fire up top to help deal with the onslaught of enemies. Kerigor knocked one of the mimic’s head clear off and thanked Bahamut for his strength. Garo and Orin switched places many times, getting wrapped up by the mimics. Timmels eventually flew out of the pit to be healed by Kerigor so he could make his way back down to assist. Eventually, the party had knocked out all but one large ooze down below. Kaida and Orin jumped down to assist their teammates. With only a few more blows, the party was safe. For now.
