April 25th

Before the chaos left, there seemed to be one thing left that only one could see. Garo gazed into the eyes of a small demon that was laughing at him. As the chaos disappeared, the demon jumped directly at Garo and then he was gone.

The party took the time to analyze their new surroundings once the beholder was slain. The tower turned into a normal tower again, with 3 dead bodies on the floor. The bodies seemed to be hundreds of years old and Berrian was able to tell that one of them was an eladrin. Orin took out his sounding stone and told Berrian Eldar to come to the tower as we may have found his father. Berrian Eldar wept on his knees as he knew it was his father. He told the party that his tears were not all sad tears since he was also happy to finally know the fate of his father. The party left the tower to return with him to the eladrin encampment.

Analastra cried into her brothers arms upon hearing the news. The entire encampment was grim but there was a sign of relief in their eyes. Berrian Eldar told the party the he agreed to help Lord Padraig and the party in any way needed. Orin let him know that something had happened to him while in the tower. The eladrin elders examined him and found out that he was indeed tainted by some sort of vile magic. They told Orin that it would take an entire day of rituals to cleanse him. Berrian took notice that these elders knew rituals and asked if they could lend him any rituals that he could learn himself. They let him borrow 3 scrolls, the ritual of knock, the ritual of Secret Doors, and the ritual of Wizards Escape. He was very excited and began to study them immediately. Orin told the rest of the party that he would stay at the camp while everyone else headed back to inform Lord Padraig that the tower was clear. He gave the party a sounding stone and told them to contact him once they encountered Lord Padraig. After arranging how things would be set for the next day, the party rested until the next morning.

The party left the next day to meet with the Lord Padraig. Upon arrival to the town, Berrian sent a runner to the castle to tell Lord Padraig that the party needed to meet with him. As they waited in the bar for the runner, Berrian drank wine and cheese while studying the scrolls he had received while Garo and Kriv drank at the bar. In the afternoon, the runner returned and said that Lord Padraig would meet with them tonight. They arrived to what seemed to be a small dinner party and informed Lord Padraig of all that had occurred. He gave the payment for the job to Kriv and asked if the party would escort a group of his soldiers to the tower. The party agreed and enjoyed the rest of the party until they returned to the bar and rested for the night.

At the encampment with Orin, it was a completely different day. He had to strip naked and be covered in different markings while the eladrin chanted around him all day. He was very antsy and did not want to stay still but the eladrin insisted that he not move or they would have to start over. They had him bathe in the fountain, cover himself in leaves, and lay still all the while. Eventually he drifted into a deep sleep that lasted the rest until the morning of the next day.

When Orin awoke, he felt better than he had in years. He was still naked but Orin had never been one to be shy. He gained assurance from the elders that the ritual was now complete and the disease had been removed. The rest of the party, followed by the soldiers of Lord Padraig, arrived in the afternoon. Orin explained what had happened with him and the rest of the party told him what had happened with Lord Padraig. Berrian returned the scrolls to the elders and thanked them for allowing him to scribe them in his own book. Everyone gathered together and decided it was finally time to make their way to the monastery.

When they arrived at the grounds, Sir Oakley told them about the place. The monastery was in the center, there were barracks to the left, a gatehouse to the right, and in the back was the hall of glory. Kriv and Orin seemed very excited about the hall of glory so the party made their way back to it. On the way, they felt like they were being watched from the gatehouse but ignored it and pushed on.

The hall of glory was covered in spider webs as the party entered. Kriv peed himself a little when he realized that there was spiders all in the webs. A swarm of spiders jumped on him while two large spiders jumped around the party. Orin and Garo went for the large spiders while Berrian blasted them from the entrance. Berrian eventually sent out a fountain of fire to burn some of the critters away. Kriv tried to jump into the fountain in the center of the room to get the spiders off of him with no avail. After a few more swings of swords and axes, the spiders were all dead. Kriv made his way out of the discusting fountain and stepped on a pair of dice. They seemed magical so he held on to them after talking to the party about them

Sir Oakley exclaimed that the party was wasting time here in the hall of glory and that we should head to the monastery instead of searching the crypts below. The party discussed their options for a while but eventually decided against Oakley and made their way to the entrance of the crypts.
