June 6th

The stairwell lead into a building that was broken into shambles. Crumbles  of the ceiling and beds were spread out along the walls. It didn’t take long for the party to notice large centipede like beings that were crawling along the floor. Orin and Garo ran to intercept the bulk of the enemies while Kriv stayed in the back to take on the one that was close. Berrian let lose a chain of lighting that torched three of the beasts.  Only a few seconds into the battle, it seemed like it was already won but then the ground began to quake. 2 large beings erupted from the ground, attacking the party. They continuously burrowed, erupted, and bit party members. The party grouped together, waiting for each one to erupt. Orin was at one point knocked down and as both of the beasts shot out of the ground and bit him very hard. Orin held strong and was able to stand again but was hurt badly. Berrian shot another devastating blow to one of the beasts while Kriv decapitated the other. The party had survived another day.

Once the party left the building, they realized that they were in the barracks that they had passed before entering the hall of glory. After some discussion, they decided to empty the guard house that was near the entrance as to not be surprised from behind when they finally would liberate the abbey.

May 23rd/30th

The party returned to the minotaurs to discuss that they had not only taken out the demon that was controlling the gnolls but also the dragon in the room next to it. The minotaurs were very impressed but then decided they wanted to party to clear out the rest of the gnolls. Everyone was put off by this request as the minotaurs had given nothing for taking out the threat of the dragon and the demon. The party grouped together and quietly discussed what they should do. Sir Oakley declared that the minotaurs were still radiating evil and would need to be removed from the temple before it could be clensed. Orin told the minotaurs that the temple needs to be cleansed and therefore the minotaurs needed to leave the temple and the party is giving them the choice to do it without bloodshed. The minotaurs tried to intimidate their way out of the agreement but not only did Orin and Kriv intimidate right back, even Berrian got in the face of the lead mintoaur. This did not work out well for Berrian since he was right in the face of the minotaurs as they decided that they’d rather die than leave.

The large minotaurs that fled the previous battle along with 2 large demons joined the room to aid the main minotaurs. Two minotaurs came from the entrance to block the escape. It was only seconds after the first swing that Berrian was surrounded. Orin tried his best to help Berrian but was hypnotized by the leader into charging Berrian. Garo took the enemies in the back of the room while Kriv and Kaida tried to block anymore from coming in after Berrian. Eventually, one of the mintaurs pushed Berrian up against a wall. He did not know that this would actually help him as it let him escape being surrounded from both sides. Orin took to fighting the oversized minotaurs and the demons. Sir Oakley joined the frey to help Garo take out the enemies around him. Eventually, Kriv was knocked out. Fortunately, Kerigor arrived to bring him back. After much effort, the minotaurs were defeated. They found a ceremonial dagger that was engrained with evil after the battle.

The party then discussed what to do next. They knew that the gnolls were still around and would need to be eradicated before they left and Berrian also felt a strong, arcanic and demonic energy pulsating from somewhere in the area. Berrian found a secret door and could feel the unease from behind the door. Kriv and Kerigor said they should rest for the night before the door was opened but Orin wasn’t tired and wanted to push on. After much debate, the party rested while Orin paced the halls impatiently.

In the morning, Orin woke up everyone and had Berrian show him how the door was opened. Behind the door was a room full of demonic depictions on the walls and a large statue of Bephomet in the room. Kerigor insisted that the party pay it respect. Timmels tried to pry the eyes out of the statue and it blasted him backwards. The party decided that those from the temple of Bahamut would need to remove this and they proceeded through another secret door.

Behind the door was a large pool of water that seemed acidic and across the pool were gnolls that were posed to attack. Orin declared that there was no need to fight and that the party only wanted to discuss with the gnolls. Orin told the gnolls that they needed to leave and the party would give them the option of dying or leaving. Kerigor was not happy by this at all and said that they must be killed. Orin told him that if we were to give the minotaurs the option to leave, the gnolls deserve the same option. After some discussion between the party and the gnolls, an arrangement came about where Kriv would stand by the gnolls as hostage while the gnolls sent over one man to let the party go through their things to make sure they had no relics that Sir Oakley would need to restore the temple. Kerigor started edging around the corner of the pool and gnolls started freaking out so Orin jumped on him and grabbed him. Sir Oakley and Berrian went through the items and took out a cloak and a rod engraved with the holy symbol of Asmodeus.

The gnoll returned to the rest of his party and they said they were leaving. They attempted to leave through the stairs in the back and Orin yelled no. He told them they must leave through a way that the party knew they were leaving. The gnolls turned unhappily to another door and Orin again declared no. The gnolls were confused. Orin said that the party didn’t know where the door they were going would lead and said that Kriv needed to stay with them until he knew they were leaving the correct way out. Kriv moved through the next few rooms and realized where he was. He sent the gnolls on their way and returned to the party. The party searched the rest of the rooms and then proceeded up the staircase that the gnolls had first attempted to flee.
